Building Momentum for Change:

A 2-Part Educational Workshop

Building Momentum for Change is a two-part educational series designed to help nonprofit leaders and board members move beyond forward motion to sustained, mission-aligned progress.

Grounded in the P5 framework, the series explores how organizations first build the internal capacity required to initiate change and then apply functional diversification to multiply impact. Together, these sessions provide practical tools to reduce risk, strengthen resilience, and create predictable momentum across leadership, operations, funding, and programs.

Session 1: Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, 1pm ET
Momentum Starters: Strengthening Your Capacity for Change
This session focuses on the internal capacity required to initiate and sustain change. Participants use the P5 framework to assess where momentum is being created, or quietly drained, across core organizational functions.  Emphasis is placed on readiness, alignment, and execution during periods of growth, transition, or increased complexity.

Participants will:
  • Explain how the P5 framework (Purpose, Product, Process, People, Profit) influences an organization’s capacity to initiate and sustain change.
  • Identify at least three momentum starters and detractors within their organization across core functional areas.
  • Assess current capacity risk using a P5-based snapshot to determine where momentum is most vulnerable.
  • Recognize early warning signs of stalled momentum, including role overload, process breakdowns, and financial strain.
  • Apply practical stabilization strategies that strengthen readiness for execution during growth, transition, or uncertainty.
  • Prioritize short-term actions that protect mission focus while improving operational reliability.

Session 2: Wednesday, January 22nd, 2026, 2pm ET
Momentum Multipliers: How Diversification Accelerates Impact

Building on Part One, this session explores how strategic diversification multiplies momentum once foundational capacity is in place. Participants examine concentration risks across funding, leadership, operations, and programs—and learn how diversification strengthens resilience without diluting mission focus.

Participants will:

  • Evaluate concentration risk across funding, leadership, programs, and operations using a P5 diversification lens.
  • Differentiate between healthy diversification and mission-diluting complexity.
  • Identify diversification strategies that increase resilience without overextending organizational capacity.
  • Map momentum multipliers that strengthen scalability, adaptability, and long-term sustainability.
  • Align diversification decisions with mission, governance responsibilities, and financial realities.
  • Develop a prioritized action list to responsibly accelerate momentum while maintaining organizational stability.
